About city
Pécs breathes with a warm, baroque soul that feels both ancient and vibrantly alive in the heart of southern Hungary. This historic city invites you to wander its cobblestone streets, where the magnificent St. Peter and St. Paul Basilica stands as a timeless sentinel over the quiet river Zselic. Beyond the grand architecture, the true magic lies in the intimate local life, from bustling markets to cozy cafes that hum with conversation and laughter. Visitors will be drawn to the rich tapestry of thermal baths and artistic spaces that define this UNESCO City of Music heritage. No journey here is complete without savoring the renowned local cuisine, where hearty stews and sweet pastries offer a taste of genuine Hungarian hospitality. As day turns to night, the atmosphere softens into a golden haze, leaving travelers with a lingering sense of peace and discovery.
